Yin Yoga takes care of you both physically and energetically. During the yin practice, you will be brought through a series of long-held, passive floor poses that mainly work the lower part of the body—the hips, pelvis, inner thighs, lower spine, areas that are rich in connective tissue. We carry our emotions in — ligaments, joints, bones, and the deep fascia networks of the body and for many of us, our connective tissues are stiff and inelastic. Connective tissue responds best to a slow, steady load which is why we hold the poses for longer and this deep physical work stimulates and remove blockages in the myofascial meridians in the body, which has the effect of balancing the body’s internal organs and systems and in turn aids to build flexibility in our physical and energetic bodies.
Yes, this practice is also for those who are tired and craving energy or those who are over-stimulated and have too much energy. We live in a world where we are bombarded with stimuli, and each person's response is different. One person may feel the drain, while another will find it hard to switch off at all. These responses create chemicals that leave traces in our bodies (and blockages in our energetic bodies) and over time we experience pain, frustration, fatigue, anxiety, and emotional outbursts.
A guided meditation that follows provide us downtime or space to allow the physical body, the mind, and the energetic body to adjust to this release. This time also allows us the space to be rejuvenated by the refreshing and calming flow of your vital force runs unhindered through the meridian pathways of the body, to the organs, improving immunity, and emotional well-being.

After taking yoga classes for 4 years, Tarra attended her first teacher training in 2011. She has taught various forms of yoga, and she became fascinated with the natural alignment of each individual, with anatomy, and the holistic results that Yin Yoga offered her students. She now focuses on teaching Yin and the energetic aspects of this practice.
When not teaching Yin Yoga, Tarra is also an esoteric teacher, healer and founder of the Akashic Light Academy and Full Circle SG.
